Poetry and Painting

How can texts in a poem correspond to elements in a painting?

and how a structure can also be a way of using

text as a visual art, concluding that poetry and visual art share

the same root when it comes to its core of conveying message

through metaphors and symbolism. Such correlation is manifested in

modern poets and artists according to the writer, which is examplified

through the poet, Marianne Moore who used visual images in

poetry.

The structure in of this poem almost seems like tides going in and

out. The whole poems is one sentence that spans to eleven lines,

flowing from line to another. Also, using rhymes like ‘sun’ and ‘spun’, or

‘wedge’ and ‘edge’, words visualize certain scenes in a rhythmic way.

This is a great reference where that shows a relationshop between

poetry and visual art.

Poems and paintings are alike in a way that they both use metaphors

where

visual arts can be read as texts through symbolism.

The Sequence. This consists of almost 200 works on paper, all painted in acrylic, all figurative images which tend to imply a narrative without even stating one. By identifying the loose framework fo the sequence, Kiff had succeded in freeing his imagination to amplify and cross-reference the themes that concerned him most.
